Experiencing Ukraine!

Ross and I have been learning language, exploring the city, and trying to grasp Ukrainian culture. The two following pictures are some of the encounters we have experienced with the culture. The first picture was taken in a large mall called DreamTown. The sign above the entrance read (in Russian) "Fish Massage". The second photo was taken at the airport. The airport is the building in the distance and the handicap parking spots are located in the very back of the lot. These are just a few things that we have enjoyed seeing and thought we would share :)

  1. We are from Texas. I stumbled on your blog, after another person posted on mine. LOL We have been to that airport. We adopted 2 girls from Ukraine, both with special needs. The handicap bathroom in the airport was LOCKED. And the big one was to get to the metro in Kyiv and Kharkiv, the slick, marble area above the stairs is SUPPOSED to be a railing for a wheel chair! It ends at a brick wall.
I guess they are trying, sort of. :)
Why are you in Ukraine? We have friends who are missionaries there with Send International. We also have a dear Ukrainian friend in Kharkiv, Papa Dima, who works with the orphans.
